The IPv6 all routers multicast address is defined as having the following format : TODORFC #4291 Section 2.7.1 specifies that the following IPv6 addresses "identify the group of all IPv6 routers" within their respective scope :

  • FF01:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:2 Scope 1 -> Interface-local
  • FF02:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:2 Scope 2 -> Link-local
  • FF05:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:2 Scope 5 -> Site-local
