Typically, NAND flash have a multiplexed bus for address and data, resulting in a much lower pin count than parallel NOR devices. Their low price-per-bit and relatively high capacities often makes these preferable to NOR, though the higher absolute cost (because the lowest-capacity devices are at least 128-Mb) reverses the logic for applications requiring very little storage.
